Vikings Excited to Meet Steve Forbes

The Berry College community was lucky to have Steve Forbes speak during the Shatto Lecture Series on March 31st.  Steve Forbes is the CEO of Forbes Inc., editor and chief of Forbes magazine and a former candidate for Presidant of the United States.

In the crowd was the men's lacrosse team, and they were lucky enough to meet Forbes and have their picture taken with him after the speech.  Forbes spoke on the topic of capitalism and his views of capitalism as the savior for the American economy. It was a sold out event that was attend not only by the Berry student body but other members of the Rome community.  Below is a picture of a couple of the Berry Lacrosse players and Steve Forbes.

The Shatto lecture series is always a highlight each semester.  Other speakers in the Shatto Lecture series have been Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Superbowl winning coach Tony Dungy, and renowned neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

The Gloria Shatto Lecture Series was created in memory of Berry College President Gloria M. Shatto, who made history in 1980 as Georgia's first female college president.  Shatto believed strongly that there is more to a college education than what can be learned in the classroom.  The Shatto Lecture Series honors her vision by bringing to Berry speakers who have stood at the crossroads of history.
